Is that possible with named without having to supply the complete domain?
I could be wrong, but I think not.

Eh, that's a good idea. I had some ideas of writing a filter program for
named that filters incoming queries. But if diald is able to do it, that
would be even better.
I guess I would have to edit /usr/lib/diald.defs for that?
