And it only took my half as long to get there as normal person.
I have a RHL6.0 system with Diald 0.16.5a installed. Ppp works fine and
so does diald. I've got it hooked to a small network that will use it as
a dial out connection but I can't get the ipchains stuff set up so it will
forward (and return) to the Win9x systems on the network. Pinging the
host IP works as does pinging the Win9x system so I know I've got most of
a real network.
I've done this several times with RHL5.x and ipfwadm with no problems
but ipfwadm-wrapper didn't work with this set up. I'm going to make
another stab at it making sure I've got all the little ducky's in a row
(should there be a GATEWAYDEV in the /etc/sysconfig/network file?) but I
feeling pretty witless right now.
If anyone has got this combination working could you flip me a message
with some pointers. Actually if you've got it working with a later
version of diald I'd be prefectly happy to do that.
TIA,
Rod
