How should my machine's hostname be set? This is something that the dial
FAQ makes an issue out of but I can't seem to get it right. Is it supposed
to be the FQDN or just the base part? In other words "jake.home.com" or
"jake"? I've tried it both ways and either way seems to work but, in all
cases, 'hostname -f' fails with a lookup error.
I am not running DNS or NIS.
