Well I did install diald-0.99.1 on my RH6.0 and it works
fine (net yet time tested, of course). Thanks Mike and Eric,
and also Mark Bergsma for RPM, at
http://www.mbergsma.demon.nl/diald-0.99.1-3.i386.rpm
and everybody on this list for advice.
Diald worked out of the box, with my old diald.conf file, although
admittedly I have trivial dial-up only single workstation configuration.
One issue I noticed relates to ppp rather than diald.
Log says that modprobe cant' find ppp-compress-xxx modules.
Could somebody enlighten me what is it and am I better of finding
and installing those modules.
Second issue is that I failed to make dctrl connect to diald.
The dctrl window is just empty and says there is no link while
the link is hgappily up. I believe I checked
that diald and dctrl uses same FIFO :).
Should be something trivial, maybe somebody has ready answer.
