...but i don't understand why my ppp connection works well as tehy both use
the same device concerning the modem, i still trying differnets
solutions*.......


coud you send me a connect script that works well with a standard
configuration (i mean simple linux box connected to Internet ...)

Nicolas:

Try using minicom to connect.  It appears from the log that no response
comes back from the modem.  Using MINICOM reset the modem and dial
manually.  You should get a login prompt from your ISP and then after
entering the ID you should get a password  prompt.  If you can't get this
far with minicom then the /etc/ppp/connect script will fail as well.
