The metric was completely gone for a while and then added back again. [or
is my brain completely fried?]
IIRC the earlier versions of iproute2 were broken when you set up a route
with route metrics. The June 30 and Aug 24 versions seem to avoid the error
message on my system. Wasn't there a message from Alexey to you on the
linux-kernel list reguarding this back in February? (I could have sworn he
said this was a holdover from when the kernel did not support route metrics
but my memory has already been proven false.)
