Is this because you have set the 'remote' parameter to be your ISP address?
I just set both local and remote to 192.168.0.101 and 192.168.0.102
respectively and everything seems fine with Redhat 6.0

The only thing I have had problems with is the ethertap (was getting fails
from my chat script when running diald without -daemon option) but removing
that module to force it to use slip seems to have done the trick.
