I recently sent a message to this list about my weird problems with
diald (not being able to upload via passive ftp, etc). I have found the
cause of this.
The slip link that diald establishes is dynip <> 195.96.96.97. After I
have started diald, and it is connected, my route table shows the
following:

Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway Genmask         Flags   Metric  Ref     Use     Iface
195.96.96.97    *       255.255.255.255 UH      0       0       0       sl1
195.96.96.97    *       255.255.255.255 U       0       0       0       sl1
192.168.10.0    *       255.255.255.0   U       0       0       0       eth0
127.0.0.0       *       255.0.0.0       U       0       0       0       lo
default         *       0.0.0.0         U       0       0       0       sl1

That's right, the remote end of the slip link has its route set twice.
Once I removed one of these routes, my problems disappeared...
Now I still think my route table should be a little different, something
like this:

default         195.96.96.97    0.0.0.0 U       0       0       0       sl1

and of course, the route to 195.96.96.97 deleted...

How do I accomplish that with diald?
