Interesting. My wish is to see an amalgamation of diald and pppd. That is,
pppd should become client-server oriented (and I'm not talking about the
interface that it manages). And maybe the two tasks could be separated
nicely so that the dial-on-demand component can be used for other types of
links (like diald is now). Maybe this is best done under a kernel more apt
for message-passing, like Hurd. We can dream, can't we?
