It's hard to answer these sorts of queries ("I get error X. Why isn't
diald working?") without more information from you.
How exactly is diald failing? And why do you think that the above
error is causing diald to fail?
Does diald call your provider?
If it does, does diald set up your default route to point to ppp?
Does diald take down the link after a while?
If diald does take down the link, does it replace the ppp routes with
sl0 or tap0 ones?
