Can anyone guide me with the following:

1 There are a few inconsistencies between the phone.filter file included
with diald-0.15.5a-1 and Harish Pillay's example diald.conf set-up in the
diald FAQs.

Specifically, the phone.filter file says to keep named xfers from holding
the link up, you should have

accept tcp 30 tcp.dest=tcp.domain
accept tcp 30 tcp.source=tcp.domain

while the FAQ says (same comment)

ignore tcp 30 tcp.dest=tcp.domain
ignore tcp 30 tcp.source=tcp.domain

They can't both be right. What is the diald logic here?

2 Hamish suggests that you should ignore bringing up the link on domain
requests between two named whereas the installed file says you should
accept it. If the nameds are running one on the server and one on the
Internet out there, I should have thought it should be accepted but am I
right?

3 On a more general topic, I want to be able to alter the configuration
at various times of day - to take advantage of unit phone costs in
particular. Can I make diald re-read the configuration file or should the
restrict command with multiple filter files be used, for example:

restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 1 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day1
#
restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 2 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day2
#
restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 3 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day3
#
restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 4 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day4
#
restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 5 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day5
#
restrict 9:00:00 17:45:00 6 * *
include /etc/diald/phone.filter.day6

(the seventh day is a day of rest of course)

or am I misunderstanding it?

TIA

John
