Jake,
You do not need NETBEUI. You can do Microsoft Networking
using TCP/IP (NETBIOS encapsulated by TCP/IP).
On your Win98, under Control Panel - Networking, remove all Protocols
you do not use (like NETBEUI). Under the Control Panel - Networking,
select the TCP/IP Protocol for your Network Card, goto Advanced Tab,
and enable the "Set protocol to be the default protocol". If you have
any other Protocols running, you will need to goto the NETBIOS Tab
and enable the NETBIOS over TCP/IP.
You shouldn't see any problems after this, unless you have a remote
DNS Server or WINs Server Defined...
