I am goofing with diald 0.99.1 and I see it supports Ethertap networking
which, as far as I understand, eliminates any need for SLIP when you connect
via PPP. I have recompiled my kernel (2.2.13) without SLIP support and
recompiled Diald but it is barfing at me with diald

Dec 8 17:16:46 cg551592-a diald[28464]: Diald is dieing with code 0
Dec 8 17:16:46 cg551592-a diald[28464]: stop sl0: SIOCDELRT: No such
process
Dec 8 17:16:52 cg551592-a diald[939]: start sl0: SIOCADDRT: No such device

what did I miss?
