I am only guessing here, but when i initally browse the internet, or use my
mail program, diald connects to the ISP, changes to the dynamic ip provided
and (for browser) I have to hit stop-refresh, (for mail) i have to kill it
and restart the mail program, then all is ok.

If instead, I simply ping to an offsite address, diald works 'out of the
box' (well, at least ping does)

I *think* this is because the initial packets have been lost to the false
local/remote ip addresses setup in diald.conf

My 2nd Q is how to I set a
generic timeout as in keep the line up for 5,10,20 minutes.

On 0.16-5 it 'seemed' to stay up for 10 minutes
on 0.99-2 it stays up for 2 seconds !! (without activity)

I use diald version 0.99-2
caldera 2.2 distro
kernel 2.2.05
