Try,
echo "force" > /etc/diald.ctl
assuming that /etc/diald.ctl is the fifo you are using to control diald

Subject: diald control from the command line
Good morning,
i was hoping someone could tell me how to issue commands (eg. Force,
Block, Normal) to diald from the command line or from a script. i need to
be able to bring the link up/down via telnet and cron without using traffic
as the initiator. i am using dialmon as well; maybe there is a way of
issuing commands via dialmon. <shrug>
thanks in advance,
dean
