Lo there,

Quick Question, I have 4 PC's on my home LAN. The main system is a Linux
firewall/gateway/IP Masq system.

The Linux Box's number is 192.168.1.1, and all the other systems have got
numbers that carry on from there. The Linux server is running named and
diald (obviously) and I have to use IPCHAINS to get the IP Masking to work.

Now here is the catch... When I have IPmask turned on,
   IPCHAINS -A forward .... -j MASQ <you get the drift>
and I want to telnet/ftp to my linux box from one of the other machines, the
dial-on-demand is activated and only after the PPP link is up, does the
TELNET/FTP session allow me to login to the linux box.

I have tried the IPCHAINS .... -j DENY on the destination address to no
avail. IS there another way to stop the Dialing process when I want to
connect to my intranet?
e.g. source Addr : 192.168.1.3 <windows /os2 box>
     target addr : 192.168.1.1 <linux server>

Regards,
Richard Parsons
