Hi! Currently I am trying to configure a linux gateway to link a small LAN to internet , using a modem and a ISP. I'd installed diald version 0.99.4 on a linux slackware 7.0 machine, that comes with a with pppd v.2.3.10, but diald fails when establishing the ppp connetion with the server. This is its output at /var/log/messages: Apr 26 00:17:00 gateway connect: Initializing Modem Apr 26 00:17:00 gateway connect: Dialing system Apr 26 00:17:25 gateway connect: Connected Apr 26 00:17:25 gateway connect: Loggin in Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway connect: Starting Comm Protocol Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: connector: /usr/lib/diald/connect: [: to: binary operator expected Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: Connected to site 192.168.0.3 Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: Running pppd (pid = 1000). Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway connect: Protocol started Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: start sl0: SIOCSIFMETRIC: Operation not supported Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: start sl0: SIOCADDRT: File exists Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: start sl0: SIOCDELRT: No such process Apr 26 00:17:26 gateway diald[902]: start sl0: SIOCADDRT: File exists Apr 26 00:17:27 gateway diald[902]: Delaying 30 seconds before clear to dial. As it can be seen someting wrong is happening with SIOCSIFMETRIC SIOCADDRT and SIOCADDRT symbols! Is there something wrong with my kernel (2.2.13) What can I do? Best regards, Arturo Izquierdo. _______________________________________________________ Get 100% FREE Internet Access powered by Excite Visit http://freelane.excite.com/freeisp - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-diald" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
