Greetings,

I've checked deja.news and could not find any information concerning the following
issue I'm having with diald.

I'm running Red Hat 6.1 kernel version 2.2.12-20. I've applied both the initscripts
and ppp patches (initscripts-4.70-1.i386.rpm, ppp-2.3.10-3.i386.rpm) and am running
diald version 0.99.4. My problem is that after many many hours of run time (in excess
of days)
diald suddenly and without warning drops all of my sl0 routes. This corrupts my
routing table preventing access to my dialup isp. (Verified using /sbin/routes -n).
Stopping and restarting diald restores the lost routes, until the next time my routing
table gets corrupted.

Has anyone else seen this behavior with this version of diald?

If this is a known problem with diald 0.99.4, is there a more stable version of diald
other than 0.99.4 that I can build under Red Hat 6.1? I am more interested in getting
diald
up and running to support a production environment and am willing to sacrifice the
latest
neat and cool features in order to gain stability. I am willing to consider reverting
to
version 0.16.5 if someone has a version that will compile on RH6.1 or can tell me what
needs
to be changed in order for it to compile.
