Well how about you at least post some error messages.

Lots of people have this working. in fact I have this configuration (ie.
RH6.1 & diald .99.3)
myself. Oh I use PAP as well. Although I had an authentication problem when
I first switched to RH 6.1 it was fixed by adding noauth to my options
file.

Rather than putting noauth as a pppd-option try putting it in the pppd
options file.

Subject: Diald won't authenticate!!!! Can't dialin at all!!!

RHat 6.1 kernel 2.2.14
Diald-.99-3

I have been fighting this for quite sometime now and I haven't progressed
any further. I cannot get diald to authenticate to my ISP using my
exsisting
ppp scripts. I spoke to my ISP and they said they use PAP. They also said
if
I am havin problems authenticating try NOT to authenticate using noauth.

I have done so and cannot get diald to connect and stay connected. It tries
to authenticate still then eventually the script terminates on its own. Can
anyone send me a copy of a working diald.conf file to see what I am
missing?

I tried inserting pppd-options noauth in my diald.conf and removing the
noauth on the command line options in my ppp-on scripts, doesn't seem to
work.

This is really getting on my nerves!! If I can't get this working, I am
scraping Linux as a firewall solution! I don't want to do this because I
know Linux is a great OS and I have worked so hard on this to get where I
am
at right now.

Need help on this quickly.
