Look at the date of release on Red Hat's diald-0.16.4-1.rpm. It's old!

Get yourself the latest version of Diald (0.99.4). Go to
http://diald.sourceforge.net and
look for the file called diald-0.99.4.tar.gz. Note that this is source
code. You'll need
'make' and 'egcs' installed, along with their dependent rpm's. Edit the
Makefile and rem
out the first coding hook. Run 'make' then 'make install' to install the
package.

Subject: Install probs

Hi,

diald-0.16.4-1 from the RPM under RedHat 6.2 won't start up the ppp link -
it'll add routes to my routing table, and it fires up the connection
script, but then pppd exits with status 13, and all the routing commands
exit with 7. Anyone help me, please? I tried compiling from source before
using the RPM, but the compilation died horribely.
