I agree, that what happened to me when I got DSL - diald is switched off.
But diald was one of the most usefull software I had on my machine when it was
on dial-up link.
(it is still on on my laptop).

Although other people needs may vary, but
with DSL I do want to be able to log INTO my machine from office as needed.
On my office workstation I actually have almost constantly window from home
opened.

So I had to learn to learn about ipchains,  ssh   etc.


Actually, I run my own mail server on dial-up link as well ....
