I don't know what is going on with mine or your's mailer
I found yesterday a solution for yoour problem (I hope)
and sent you a message.
Short answer: terminal parameters .... is result of obscure bug
in diald (at least 0.99.1) which fails in some curcumstances when
there diald has less open file descriptors than some number (3 ???)
(One of open files is /dev/....). Some counter gets confused or
whatever,
I don't remember.
Short solution is to add some file to open, for example fifo.
So add to diald.conf
fifo /etc/diald/diald.ctl
It is usefull to have fifo open anyway to communicated with diald by
dctrl program (nice monitoring tool).
