I tried to get my Pinnacle PCTV Sat to work with Linux. I compiled the kernel (2.4.20) after having applied the bttv patches. Then I compiled v4l2 and bttv 0.9.4 with patches from dvb-kernel (1.0.0-pre2). After that I installed all modules (kernel, v4l2, bttv, dvb-kernel). Installing the modules seems to work, I get the following output of lsmod: dvb-bt8xx 2896 0 (unused) bt878 4208 0 [dvb-bt8xx] dvb-core 35820 1 [dvb-bt8xx] tuner 9568 0 (unused) bttv 77920 0 [dvb-bt8xx] video-buf 9760 0 [bttv] i2c-algo-bit 7144 1 [bttv] i2c-core 13188 0 [tuner bttv i2c-algo-bit] v4l2-common 2528 0 [bttv] videodev 5824 2 [bttv]
I also created the devices with makedev.napi: htpc:~# ls -l /dev/dvb/adapter0 total 0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 1 Apr 6 11:16 audio0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 6 Apr 6 11:16 ca0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 4 Apr 6 11:16 demux0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 5 Apr 6 11:16 dvr0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 3 Apr 6 11:16 frontend0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 7 Apr 6 11:16 net0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 8 Apr 6 11:16 osd0 crwxrwxrwx 1 root video 250, 0 Apr 6 11:16 video0
When I try to run szap now (channels.conf exists) I get the following error: htpc:~# szap "RTL Television" zapping to 'RTL Television': sat 0, frequency = 12188 MHz H, symbolrate 27500000, vpid = 0x00a3, apid = 0x0068 opening SEC failed: No such file or directory
What am I doing wrong?
Thanx, Volker
