I can only talk about the 'official' LinuxDVB drivers, but there the tua6100 needs a codepath similiar to the one of the PHILIPS_SU1278 (not the PHILIPS_SU1278SH) -- maybe you want to force this manually in pll_set_tv_freq(). Beside this for the SU1278 familiy with tua6100 some of the registers need to get initialized differently, take a look in stv0299_init().
