What could be the problem when all appropriate drivers/modules seem to be loaded, but no dvb devices appear in the /dev tree?
I have a AverTV DVB-T card, which should have the bt878 and Microtune MT7072D chips. I'm using 2.6.0-test9 kernel. I have not given any parameters to any modules when loading, does bttv require a 'card' parameter? I haven't found anywhere info on what the correct card id would be... All modules seem to load without errors: Module Size Used by sp887x 23104 0 dvb_bt8xx 7808 0 bt878 11504 1 dvb_bt8xx bttv 136800 3 dvb_bt8xx,bt878 btcx_risc 4868 1 bttv soundcore 8640 1 bttv dvb_ttpci 306824 0 saa7146_vv 48192 1 dvb_ttpci saa7146 18136 2 dvb_ttpci,saa7146_vv v4l1_compat 14336 1 saa7146_vv v4l2_common 4608 2 bttv,saa7146_vv ttpci_eeprom 2688 1 dvb_ttpci video_buf 22144 2 bttv,saa7146_vv dvb_core 61632 3 sp887x,dvb_bt8xx,dvb_ttpci videodev 9344 2 bttv,saa7146_vv Here are the messages received when loading the modules: Linux video capture interface: v1.00 ttpci_eeprom: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel. saa7146: register extension 'dvb'. bttv: driver version 0.9.12 loaded bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture bttv: Bt8xx card found (0). bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:01:06.0, irq: 11, latency: 32, mmio: 0xdc000000 bttv0: subsystem: 1461:0761 (UNKNOWN) please mail id, board name and the correct card= insmod option to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .org bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC *** [card=0,autodetected] bttv0: using tuner=-1 bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... not found bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found bttv0: registered device video0 bttv0: registered device vbi0 bt878: AUDIO driver version 0.0.0 loaded bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (0). bt878(0): Bt878 (rev 17) at 01:06.1, irq: 11, latency: 32, memory: 0xdc001000 attach: checking "SMBus nForce2 adapter at 5000" attach: checking "SMBus nForce2 adapter at 5100" attach: checking "bt878 #0 [sw]" find by pci: checking "bt878 #0 [sw]" attach: "bt878 #0 [sw]", to card 0 DVB: registering new adapter (Ave).
