[linux-dvb] Force 16:9 to 4:3 hack?

Can anybody tell me if it would be possible to hack the DVB drivers to 
output a 4:3 picture, or report a 4:3 picture to mythtv even if it detects a 
16:9 input stream?

If this is possible could someone please point me in the right direction.  
Do I need to look at the DVB drivers or mythtv?
