Afaik the av7110 ir driver works correctly.

As I wrote before:
If an application reads from the keyboard _and_ /dev/input/eventX at
the same time, it will see all keypresses twice (unless it grabs the
input device using EVIOCGRAB).

That's normal behaviour for all keyboard-type input drivers.
