I don't know if the original poster was making a Famous Historical Allusion
or not, but the phase "dickless workstation" has a long and venerable
history. I believe it was one of the heavy-duty gurus back in the halcyon
days of USENET -- back when it was all passed from machine to machine by
UUCP -- who inadvertently left the 's' off in a posting about diskless
workstations. From then on the phrase dickless workstations just plain
stuck.
