Linux system requirements.

I realize that this list is for emabedded Linux applications but, I thought might be
able to get help from some of you regarding components for a full Liunx system.

I am planning to use a 486DX2 and have several boards to choose from but, I am 
uncertain
about what video, audio, scsi, and CD-ROM cards will work with Linux. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks!
