Here's an article that appeared in the monthly newsletter from my company's IS group. Hope you find it interesting. "100 GB Bug: Dire threat to life as we know it." Experts warned today of a new threat to modern civilization: the 100GB Bug. As most people know, McDonald's signs show the number of hamburgers sold, which now stands at 99 billion burgers, or 99 Gigaburgers (GB) Soon that number will roll over to 100GB. McDonald's signs , however, only have two decimal places. After the sale of the 100 billionth burger, McDonalds signs will read "00 Billion Burgers Sold." This, experts predict, will convince the public that no McDonald's hamburgers have ever been in fact sold, causing a complete collapse of consumer confidence in McDonalds products. The ensuing drop in sales is certain to force the company into bankruptcy. This, in turn, will push the American economy over the brink, which finally, will complete the total devastation of the global economy, ending civilization as we know it, and forcing us all to live on beetles. I hope this hasn't been posted before because I typed this out in "vi" I also hope I don't get sued by the big M over this.
