Hello everybody
I'm new in this mail list, I read a lot, but i didn't find a solution
for my problem.
I have an embedded system with an amd elan Processor and a 48MB ATA
Compact Flash Disc, 8 MB RAM.
No keyboard, no vga. Only V24,Parallel Port and ethernet is available.
On the system runs a special dos (ROM DOS)..
I want to get running linux on it.
I got the emj distribution ( stanford, based on slackware 4.0 ) with a
kernel 2.2.12 an put it on the flash disk. ( with pcmcia connector ) (
The system is running on a jumptec evaluation board ( amd 486 ) without
vga card ).
As Boot Loader i put lilo to the disk. I put the serial command in the
lilo.conf file and i want to start a aggety process on com2 for terminal
control.
I have now the problem that i see the following message in a terminal
connected withe the system via com2 but then the system hangs:
LILO boot:
kernel
Loading kernel.......
nothing more happens.
I can make an input with the terminal emulation for example i can press
TAB to see the available kernels. But after the message Loading
kernel....... nothing more happens. What should be the next step in
loading the kernel ? I am waiting for a message 'uncompressing linux',
what happens between 'loading kernel' ang 'uncompressing linux'?
I don't know if it is a problem with the bios or something else.
Is there any possibility to debug something?
