Okay.
So I'm building an embedded-style system
Actually a wearable system - be forewarned.

I'm looking for info on:
how to power this beasty (don't just say "batteries" please :)
        What other external hardware's needed

I've found -nada-. Nothing. Zip.
MIT's site gives a hint: Batteries.

Okay. I'm looking at either PC-104 or equiv.

Incidentally, I'd also like sound, suggestions? (PCMCIA is acceptable,
USB is better. FWIW unpowered USB hubs exist :) [3port]

and an aside:
Actually the smaller the MB the better.
requirements:
        USB would be good
PCMCIA (bonus) or IDE. linux PCMCIA can support external hd's :)
lotsa ram. and a nice fast CPU. enough to run ViaVoice :)
(though Sphynx can work as a backup)
Oh, serial port to plug in a terminal for debugging...
And some kinda video'd be nice too. But not necessary.

...actually I'm also dithering with using a 68K board to build a simple
display-toy as well. Anyone know anything 'bout this? There's even less
info about this than anything else I've looked for...

I've never built an embedded-style system before. I've repaired computers
for ummm 3 years (officially) and been working with electronics longer.
I'm primarily a computer programmer but i'm one of those who -does- carry
a screwdriver *grin*.
Anyways....

That's all :)
G'day, eh? :)
