Not sure about X, but I have been working with nanogui. There is
currently an effort to port FLTK and I believe FLTK has some builder
utilities. Nanogui has a lot of features and is well suited for embedded
systems. It provides a subset of the native win32 API (microwindows) and
also has an X-like API (nano-X). The project has been extremely active
over the last few weeks and there is even a port of kaffe in progress.
