Linux-powered PDA vs. RT performance

Hi,

I saw some linux-powered PDA/Handheld example in www.gmate.com
I wonder if those ports can perform as Real-time OS.
Actually I'm interested in interfacing a linux handheld to
communication devices such as a GPS receiver.
