i've re-thought my mini linux idea & instead have decided to burn a
streaming (*more on this in a moment) distribution. it will boot from a
floppy & tell the computer the root is on the cdrom.here, a x server & a
special kernel optimized for this streaming linux will be uncompressed. also
umcompressed will be the libs necessary to run the os and programs. 64 megs
of ram would be recomended because of the following:
all the programs are compressed on the cd in a package for that program.
when a person wants to run a program, it is uncompressed into the ram & run
from there. if the user wants, the distribution can be installed on a
harddrive, which would also be used for swap space.
the only problem is that i dont know C or many of the other languages
necessary to do this. i need the help of anyone interested. or anyone that
thinks this cant work email me back.
thanks
