It's really beyond me why you are trying to build linux-on-a-floppy
yourself when there are already so many similar projects available
(toms root/boot, for example). Download one of those and modify it,
don't try to start from scratch.

IMHO the silliest mistake was not doing a single net search on "linux
on a floppy" in all those nine weeks. Try Google and you'll get a
wealth of information.
