Hi All, I want to know that how important is the initrd style of booting as far as booting from a flash disk is concerned.Since I have already prepared Linux on a floppy isnt this miniaturization of the whole Linux operating system the first step towards embedded Linux. Can't I keep this OS inside the flash and boot from it.What I want to know is what is the exact procedure followed. Another thing how important and necessary is the knowledge of writing device drivers. Thanks in advance.
