I'm using the hook available at: http://www.hpc2n.umu.se/staff/torkel/partition.STORAGE.source
to build the partition tables, a more or less standard script/DEFAULT/S01 and a reworked s/D/S10 is available at: http://www.hpc2n.umu.se/staff/torkel/S10 It probably only works with grub though. The lilo parts are completely untested. I also had to patch initrd-tools (mkinitrd) with the patch available in debian bug #284763 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=284763) You probably have to redo some of my work to make it work the way you want it to, but hopefully you can use it as a start at least. I'm using mdadm, so there is no need for any raidtab or mdadm.conf. The only thing left to solve is to hack grub to install itself on the ninth disk, i.e the first disk on the second raid-controller. Does anybody know grub enough to give me some hints were to start looking? /torkel
