setting the default backgrounds on GNOME clients

Hello, all Ubuntu releases i have installed with FAI have the same
background images
whose default image is the same used in Debian. Is it possible to use fcopy
to change
the default backgrounds and give to each release its own backgrounds and
themes?
How to?
