It appears you are not aware of bonnie++, which (AFAIK) is a currently
maintained offshoot of bonnie. It adds file and directory creation
and deletion to bonnie, to test _filesystems_ rather than simply block
and char I/O performance.

The author of bonnie++ is Russell Coker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, and it
is available at http://www.coker.com.au/bonnie++/
