caddr_t

[Godfree]

I came across a data type called caddr_t and would like more 
information on it. One of the places I found it was on a Hewlett 
Packard unix system. In the ptrace.h header file I found the 
following:
#define char *caddr_t.

Could someone please shed some light on this.
