Yes, but every single time this is invoked for an existing
configuration, there'll be an ugly error + info message in the logs.

Is this really something we want for a stable series?
Was this change good for something, which fixing the help text alone
wouldn't have done too?
No one reads the help text. They just get it wrong.
It was wrong from the beginning. It is not the only mistake, I'm
afraid... But, it's the only one that seems to cause customers problems.
I changed it because it causes people problems.
I'm willing to take out the error/warning message. But, not to change
the name back (at least not without further discussion).
This has been in my tree for a few weeks, and I found that I had
forgotten to commit it.
