RedHat 5.2 and AX.25

Has anyone successfully connected their TNC to the RedHat 5.2 kernel?
I'm a newbie, so not sure what my options are.  I currently am running JNOS
on a
DOS box, but I have a RedHat 5.2 machine and would like to use that if I
can.
