Hi,
Isn't it so that modern 56kbps telephone modems use a DSP and have the
possibility to load new firmware?
Wouldn't it be possible to use one of these modems and re-program it for
use with packet radio?
I don't care about the AT command set. If the thing would behave as a
normal TNC then this would be very convenient for excisting aplications.
56kbps modems are inexpensive these days. It would be an easy way to get
started with packet radio.
I don't have the knowledge to implement something like this, but maybe
this is something for the DSP experts among us hams to set their teeth
into?
