Guess you are going to use the KAM in kiss mode. You need ax25-utils,
possibly the new version (I use ax25-utils-2.1.42a, the old and still
functional for me, using kernel 2.0.36). You also need mkiss, for
piping two ports into one cable, and kissattach the port to the KAM.
Reccommend browsing the AX25-HOWTO, the freshest version you can find.
Forget about patching the kernel with module-14 and related stuff,
your kernel is fresh enough (no patching needed after 2.0.35, using
the 2.0.x series).

The new ax25 utils are divided into node, lib and something else that
doesn't come to my mind right now (I still use the old stuff). The
new ones are better suited for the 2.2.x series of kernels. Try to
get the LATEST 2.2.x kernel, the older ones are known to have bugs.
(2.2.1, 2.2.2, etc). The latest I knew about was 2.2.13.

Read man kissattach. Use a fake IP address, maybe a 10.0.0.1, if
you don't have a valid 44 net address. Also read man axports.

Delete it, recheck your options and recompile.

There are several places. Try http://hes.iki.fi, www.tapr.org,
metalab.unc.edu, www.linux.org.au, etc, etc. Maybe others will have
some more suggested places.

Almost any terminal: Alt-192 Alt-255 Alt-192 should get it out of
"kiss sonambulism". Minicom does OK. You MUST use the proper speed,
and the proper number of stop and parity bits. Recommend you use 8N1.
