I have excluded all irq's except 5 in my /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file.
Also, If I eject thecard, I get the following stuff scrolled up the screen

Could look here for winmodems
        http://www.linmodems.org/
        http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html
Get an external modem and put it on your serial port.

Both have the same web publishing tools.

I was thumbing through the O'Reilly book on writing linux device drivers
the other day and I believe that they give some info on doing something
similar to that, may be worth a look.

BeOS just released Their FREE version 5 for the PC. But, it's
alittle know fact that they also released a free Linux
version
too. This doesn't use the BeOS EB file system but your
Linux ext2 system. The image is only 20mb. but the download is
38mb
New to BeOS version 5:
 scroll mouse support
 CDR burner
software
 Built in MP3 player
 New BeMail interface
 New
Netpositive browser
Plus much more to mention !

Get it at
http://im1.tucows.com/beos/osupdates.html or go
directly to
tucows. Make sure you download BeOS for Linux
No I don't work
for BeOS and I'm not affiliated with them in any way.

In Linux the default SCSI "Maximum number of TCQ commands per device"
is 8. Given the recommended range of 8 - 24 TCQ commands (per the
kernel notes) what is a good number for 2 Quantum Atlas V drives on
the same channel?

Thank you.

Subject: Can't boot win95/98 installation floppys.
Date: Sat, 01 Apr 2000 16:11:35 -0800

Ok, this is not a 100% linux question, but I'm developing a linux boot
loader and I need to be able to install win95/98 on my linux box. No
amount of asking in win95/98 groups produced any clue.

On hda, I had 3 windows systems, so I know I used to be able to boot
those floppys. All 3 started having strange booting problems, so I
wiped hda and repartitioned to reinstall them. Then I discovered that
the installation boot floppys for both win95 and win98 will not boot.

Symptoms:
(1) dos6 floppys boot fine, and I can install win3.1
(2) all linux floppys boot fine.
(3) any floppy made with 'format a: /s' in win98 will not boot.
(4) all these floppys boot fine on other win machines
(5) win98 floppys load several tracks and hang without printing
anything.
(6) disabling hda does not affect the problem.
(7) the machine in question has 430tx chipset

This is my main machine, and I have about 10 linux systems on hdd and
hde, all of which work fine.

This problem *may* have appeared while I was testing my nuni boot
loader, but I can not come up with any hypothesis about how nuni could
have done it. However, it makes me a little nervous about spreading nuni
throught the world.

Neil.
