Try power cycling the Dlink. I have one and I noticed that FTPs dropped
to a few bytes per second, I power cycled my Dlink and everything was
normal again. I have no idea why the power cycling helped but it did.

I found a system offerred by Surplus Direct / Egghead that I like. This
dealer got good reviews on resellerratings.com. It is a Nexar system and I
really don't know much about them. I was wondering if anyone had any input
on Nexar or on the system that I would like to buy. The specifications can
be found at:

Thanks for any input.

Hi group,
my keyboard/mouse combination is a Logitech Desktop Pro (this is wireless).
I don't have any problems with it when running Win98SE or W2K Pro or
accessing my BIOS.
But as soon as I run SuSE Linux it freezes occosionally. It's on the console
aswell as when running X. It is at system installation aswell as in normal
operation.
Windows tells me the battery status is okay for keyboard and mouse.
When running X I can get it back to work by moving the mouse, but on the
console I don't have a chance. The only thing I can do there is rebooting.
This problem occurs in SuSE Linux 6.3 (Kernel 2.2.13) and in
SuSE Linux 7.0 (Kernel 2.2.16). I didn't try another distribution.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is?
What can I do to run it properly?
Thanks in advance

you might laugh at this one...
I have three identical motherboards (PCChips M748LMRT) in three PC's... 100%
integrated components... all working with Linux
10/100 fast ethernet (Davicom 9102)
onboard sound (C-Media 8738)
onboard video (SiS 620)
onboard winmodem (PCTel HSP56 Micromodem - yes... even this works)
running SuSE 6.4 - nice way to put together some cheap boxes.
bought the first one almost on a *dare* from a guy that swore it would never
work with Linux... and then built two more identical systems after I got
everything working.
on another note - I am more likely to buy *interesting* hardware than pay
through the nose for something *popular* - 3com, Intel, US Robotics, Asus,
HP, etc...

Also, you will need 'st' (SCSI Tape) support compiled in or as a module.
I suspect that you have "st.o" and it should be loaded automagically.

Does anyone know how to install Mandrake 7.1 on a Compaq armada with a

The "CDROM.IMG" doesn't recognize it, and no NFS install is possible !
A "Howto make" a bootdisk or a "xxxxxx.img" will be welcome ! :-)

1. Change buttons to 5. I don't know if it matters but ...
2. Get the program "imwheel". Follow instructions included with it.

The first number [2.2.18-3] refers to the Kernel version, the second number
20000904 is the date of the patch -- its version.
The only thing hard about installing a new kernel is that you must
configure the options correctly. There is a HOW TO at:
http://www.ssc.com/mirrors/LDP/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html
I am running Kernel v. 2.2.16 with the "ide.2.2.16.all.20000805" patch and
have had no problems with it after proper configuration. I forgot to
enable PPP the first time etc. Not a big problem but had to do it over.
