After **lurking** here for nearly 3 years, I'm finally getting around
to installing LINUX. On one hand, I know how little I know, but on
the other hand, to be honest, some of the MAN pages and HOWTOs are
really not that easy to read if you don't know what you're looking
for. BUT, I also know how much some of the list members **love**
idiotic newbie questions. So I decided to look for help elsewhere.
After searching the web, I found a great on-line book. It's a largely
expanded version of Matt Welsh's installation guide, but it now
contains much more information, and an excellent tutorial for
newbies. I highly recommend it to anyone - before asking questions
that will get you flamed, try looking for answers here.

BTW, maybe a link to this book could be added to the LINUX-il page.
Or maybe someone could mirror it. It's only about one mega, but the
site seems very busy and it took me a **long** time to download. I'm
assuming that the average newbie would want the ZIP version, but the
book also exists in a few othe formats.
