My connection is such that downloading a 40 MB rpm is unrealistic. The
link kit is only 4MB. That is why I ask if someone has the spec file, or
knows how to compile.

I don't want to compile the whole of the X11 system. Only the X server.
I already did that on a slackware system, with no problems. The
server was unfortunately lost when 50% of the sectors became bad.
