IBM published a special detailed document about how to install RH6.0
on ThinkPad600:

It's currently the only laptop to have an official certification from
RedHat (although the modem doesn't work yet...).

Since I never installed RedHat 6.0 on ThinkPad 600, I can't promise
you that your problem is solved and/or these documents have some
